What a brilliant night we had on our last Nightjar walk of the season. This was taken through the scope with my phone. It was dark and the phone used a 3 second shutter, thankfully the bird didn’t move.

Another great walk with Derbyshire Bird Tours today from Bonsall. We saw mixed flocks of linnets and goldfinches, hovering kestrel, red kite and several common redstarts plus lots more. We finished up in TheFountainBonsall with a refreshing ginger beer 🌞 #derbyshirebirdtours

It was my first visit to Skylarks Nature Reserve with Derbyshire Bird Tours today. The area used to be a gravel pit, now it’s designated for wildlife 🫶. We saw adult and juvenile green woodpeckers, cattle egret, kingfisher plus lots more #derbyshirebirdtours

Lovely day spent North Cave Wetlands with Derbyshire Bird Tours today. This is a fantastic reserve with reedbeds, meadows, woodland and lakes. We saw lots including a female bullfinch feeding on blackberries and a bittern in flight ☀️ #derbyshirebirdtours #northcavewetlands

Today’s tour with Derbyshire Bird Tours was to Middleton Moor Lagoons. There wasn’t much to see on the water but the woodland edge was full of fieldfare, redwing, various tits and finches. So much activity and lots of rain too 🌧️ #derbyshirebirdtours #middletonmoorlagoons
