Absolutely stunning visit to WWT Caerlaverock over the last two days. The very essence of sanctuary & such a privilege to play a part in the history this landscape. Winter is what it's famous for but summer is stunning! As highlighted by these #Swallows at the Saltcot hide.

Visiting WWT Martin Mere today: the scale & variety of habitat is amazing! But my standout is the moth trap & hoards of schoolchildren learning to love moths as a result. This little beauty is not a twig... it's a buff-tip moth camouflaging itself. How cool is nature?! 🥰

One to watch today. The risk of #thunderstorms covers most of central England, with the potential for very heavy localised downpours & #flooding. As always with storms, it’ll be very hit-and-miss, but you’ll know about it if you’re under a ‘hit’… 👉 gov.uk/check-flooding

This is what it looks like when team WWT see a Madagascar Fish Eagle! And not just that, but one with prey and a chick in the nest to feed it to. #Wetland superpower #biodiversity on full display for us in ##Ankarafantsika today. 🥰

What have we done to our world? Spending time in #Madagascar is like being on the front line of #climatechange. But it's not just here it's having an impact. Extremes are at risk of becoming the new normal. We need to build #resilience now. #wetland #superpowers

So excited this has got to launch! At WWT, we have big ambitions. But we recognise delivering them needs #partnership & #collaboration. So we're sharing this work to help everyone play a part in delivering those ambitions. The time for #wetlands is now!

They're still busy! 🙏 to the birder who told us they'd spotted one of our 2024 'head started' Godwits in Alicante, Spain on her way to winter in W Africa 🌍 Hatched WWT Welney & released on the Nene Washes, she's already travelled nearly 1000 miles 🤞she'll be back in 2025🥚
