Many congratulations to former Clare College Director of Music John Rutter on receiving a knighthood in HM The King’s Birthday Honours. We’re looking forward to recording an album of his works next month for release on harmonia mundi in 2025. Congratulations, Sir John!
Sir John Rutter Immersion Day! Lovely rehearsing Clare College Choir today for our harmonia mundi recording of his works next month. Then a super generous evening with him incl listening to his rec of our Monteverdi Vespers earlier this year & watching my students get excited. Glorious.

End of three long wonderful days recording a new album of music by Sir John Rutter for harmonia mundi with my Dmitri Ensemble and Clare College Choir, for release next year. Have been wanting to do this for many years. A special project, with special people, celebrating a special man.

A wonderful Frank Martin Mass last night at Our Lady & the English Martyrs, Cambridge for Cambridge Summer Music Ben Johnson. Final Clare College Choir concert of the season, and a bittersweet farewell to 19 of them! Nurturing their musical journeys from Matriculation to events like last night is such a privilege.
