Two CiTi classes went to ALASKA last week! We had the incredible opportunity to connect w/ Darin from Alaska SeaLife Center to learn all about marine mammals. We even got to meet Pilot, one of the resident the steller sea lions, and observe a sea lion scat dissection! NYSDLC

Batter up! Ms. Carney & Ms. Salotto took their classes to the National Baseball Hall of Fame... virtually! We connected from home via @zoom_us, & had wonderful conversations w/ Bruce about cultural diversity-- an ALWAYS important & ALWAYS relevant topic. National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾ NYSDLC

Meeting, talking, and networking with colleagues is imperative to a fully functional program. The NYSDLC convenes at least four times per year in person, but COVID has made that challenging. No worries... we're unstoppable! Connecting virtually is a great Plan B.

One of my fave things to do is talk w/this guy! Blue Man (& friend) Mark Frankel so generously connects w/Ss every year to talk about his journey in the Blue Man Group. This year's connection was different (because this YEAR is different #covid) but as engaging as ever! NYSDLC

Luck🍀was w/ me yesterday! I had the pleasure of joining Ms. Archer & her Mexico Middle School Ss on a #virtualfieldtrip to @RochesterChall1 w/ CDR Peter Robson to learn all about astronauts & space travel! I learn something new (& I LAUGH) every single time! NYSDLC Monroe #1 BOCES ITS Mexico Academy

Some of our CiTi students were able to connect with an educator from the Virginia Museum of History & Culture today to learn about the history of espionage in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars! This was all possible due to our Distance Learning program. #BuildYourFuture

Several NY schools had the pleasure/honor to connect w/new friends in Ontario, Canada this week! Melissa Schroeder-Hribal's 3rd graders presented their province to a global audience.
