The Texas Quote of the Day comes from Waylon and describes how he finally broke away from cocaine. It is both poignant and inspirational: "After about three weeks, I got to where I could sit for a time and feel my mind clearing out. I realized, that’s the end of it. I waited

Just got pulled over on hwy and fix-it ticketed for expired tags—not even mad about it. However, I had a half finished road beer, and I stuck it in the center console only to discover after pulling away that the cocksucker turned over and emptied out! 🤬

ME, AT 4:50 AM: Walks out for work. Turns sprinkler on for a minute to water rye seed. Pets the dog. MY UNEMPLOYED NEIGHBOR WHOSE WIFE WORKS 2 JOBS, AT 4:50 AM: Walks out to patio and starts smoking big weed. FFS🤦🏻

Alright fuckers, I will be leaving the land of cell service again in a few hours. Just like I requested last month, don’t start WW3 without me! But if you do, at least I’ll be armed upon my return!🤣

Well…I came back with pictures again. Got some trail miles in. No more meat for freezer, but calves got a workout🤣. Some pics of the area. Fire was two years ago I believe. Landscape will be oak dominated in 5 years as they are all regrowing around trunks, conifers are thinned.

(pics continued) These 4 photos weren’t for aesthetic, just a sampling rather, of the dominant new growth vegetation covering the burned mountainsides. California Black Oak, California Scrub Oak, Mountain Misery (Bearclover), and young Manzanita trees. All endemic to the region.

Still some decent water in the creeks even after summer’s end. 2nd consecutive year of great Sierra snow pack. Some of the old guys said it was common for this one to be bone dry months earlier in the year.

I try to keep politics only in my comments and not in my posts column, but this is worth a reminder: Fuck Joe Biden, his entire administration, and particularly his DOJ—and fuck Kamala Harris. Both are proxies for a larger socialist cabal. J6 was not an insurrection. That’s all.

SCENES FROM THE MACHINE SHOP: (earlier in week) This one was a real bitch. Mill not large enough to do it the right way, so into the large capacity live tooling lathe. Began as a piece of bar stock. Dished area completely milled. Lots of steady rest repositioning. 20’ long.

The absolute irony of having a Twitter feed of Peanut the Squirrel outrage, followed by a plate of delicious looking squirrel and gravy on rice. Wonder what Peanut was eating? He’d probably stew up real nice—as fat as he was and all.
