I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n

Undocumented immigrants deserve dignity not because of how their labor serves you and this country, but because we are human beings. But that seems hard to understand in a society that values people based on their productivity.

Oh and another thing that pisses me off — YOU CAN HAVE A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP whenever you want in recovery. I don’t know why we tell people this. It’s typical infantilizing of PWUD like they aren’t adult enough to make decisions for themselves.

This might seem radical (it’s not) but people on drugs deserve to eat. Hope that helps!
