Year 5 are all back at the youth hostel having lunch. They have once again shown incredible growth mindset and energy in their activities this morning! A super start to their second day! 🌈

We had a very hot, Hot Chocolate Treat - but found a lovely cool spot to chat about the kindness that these wonderful children have been showing 🌈

It’s dinner time here in Malham! Year 5 are refuelling after another busy day of learning and fun! Group 1 are now going to learn more about Malham’s limestone and have a go at fossil casting. Group 2 are adventuring out on the village trail! 🌈

This morning, Group 1 enjoyed stream studies nearby the hostel. They used a co-operative growth mindset to measure the depth of the stream and the velocity of the water! 🌈

Group 1 have had great fun adventuring out to Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar. They’ve learnt lots about their features and how they link to Year 5’s learning about rivers! 🌈

Group 2 had their turn to venture to and up Malham Cove this morning! A determined growth mindset shown by all when heading up the steps! 🌈

Group 2 displayed a great co-operative growth mindset in their stream studies yesterday! Working together in the water and investigating its depth and velocity! 🌈

Year 5 have had a great night sleep and a wonderful breakfast! They’re now ready for their third and final day in Malham! 🌈

A lovely KS2 Celebration Assembly this morning - these children have been working on their 'concentrate' growth mindset muscle. We also have our Kindness Award winners - they will enjoy a hot chocolate treat next week - well done everybody! 🌈

Group 2 had lots of fun using GPS on the village trail challenge! There was plenty of concentration when learning how to use the devices and yet again, fantastic co-operation when out and about using them! 🌈

Group 2 were brave in their fire lighting activity! With lots of concentration, they learnt lots of safe ways to light a fire when out in the wild! 🌈

Group 1 was hard at work learning all about erosion and Malham’s historic limestone landscape! 🌈

This morning, Group 1 consolidated their Year 5 learning of map skills! They had an opportunity to put it into practice in Malham Village! Lots of concentration was required for this one - they were superb! 🌈

Group 1 were brave in their fire lighting activity! With lots of concentration, they learnt lots of safe ways to light a fire when out in the wild! 🌈

We have been blessed with a beautiful setting, stunning weather, a brilliant team of staff and of course, a wonderful group of Year 5 children - who have learnt so much, had lots of fun and done Churwell proud! Malham 2025 - over and out! 🌈

We had special VE Day themed assemblies in school today. The children have been learning about VE day, listening to primary accounts of WWII and thinking about how and why we remember these important events 🌈

Every child in school is making some VE Day commerative bunting - here are two wonderful examples from Year 5. Each year group will hang their finished bunting outside their classroom areas 🌈
