Welcome to all the new Turn-Based RPG-fans. With all the "JRPGs never left, dude..."-lists and posts, I thought I'd show one that for some reason keeps getting left out of the conversation. The OG, grandfather and GOAT of Turn-Based RPGs; Dragon Quest. After E33, play DQ.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the BEST gaming trilogies of all time, hands down. I recently realized just how many hundreds of hours of quality content is packed into these three games, plus their respective DLCs. The stories and world building of these games are top notch.

Dragon Quest Day 2025 is 21 days away, and with it, we will hopefully get: Release date for Dragon Quest I-II HD-2D Remake Details about Dragon Quest XII. It feels like we're approaching a pivotal moment for the franchise, so I'm really looking forward to some more news.

Zoma down, and credits on Dragon Quest HD-2D Remake. I postponed the ending because of insane work load, but then I atleast got to experience the rest of the main story at my own pace. Absolutely amazing game. Onto the post game. I love Dragon Quest so much.

Dragon Quest is the purest video game example of "don't fix what's not broken". Even if you're not a fan of turn-based RPGs, Dragon Quest has such an important legacy and has grandfathered so many modern systems, that you should do yourself a favour and play atleast one entry.

Dragon Quest Day 2025 is in 5 days. With Dragon Quest I-II HD-2D Remake releasing later this year, we still have yet to get more details on Dragon Quest XII, which is my #1 hope with this DQ Day. Next year is Dragon Quest's 40th anniversary. Crazy.

Dragon Quest Day 2025 is tomorrow. DQXII is a big a mystery as ever, but I hope we're a little more enlightened after tomorrow. Although, I don't expect much. Dragon Quest has always done things in its own way, which is part of the charm of the franchise. I'm just excited.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is releasing on oktober 30th this year. No news on Dragon Quest XII yet. I have a feeling they might halt it untill the next Switch 2 direct. But 5 months until DQI&II HD-2D Remake. That's not long. Collector's Edition is looking really cool.

Dragon Quest XI has sold 8.5 million copies. The franchise itself sits at around 93 million sales. It speaks volumes that a soon 40 year old JRPG franchise with such high rigidity of it's formula can still be so succesful and beloved. If you haven't - play DQXI. Right now.

I'll keep saying it with my whole chest: Dragon Quest VII is severely underrated and misunderstood. It's absolutely one of my favorite 3DS RPGs, and an excellent Dragon Quest entry. My favorite parts of the game are probbably the vocation system and the emotional vignettes.

4 months until Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. The original games (especially I) didn't rely on graphics or a complex story to shine, but instead on its simple but rewarding gameplay and, most importantly, exploration. I'm 100% confident they're cooking up a masterpiece.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is excellent so far. I don't care much for gacha-mechanics, but having a free Persona game on PC and mobile is not something I would've imagined a couple of years ago. There isn't a lot to say - Persona 5's framework and design is superb. So, win.

Dragon Quest IV, V & VI, also known as the Zenithian Trilogy, is an absolutely masterful sub-series within Dragon Quest. I still can't believe just how solid the Dragon Quest-formula is, staying true to it since the beginning and with it still being so fun and engaging to play.

Golden Sun is one of the best JRPG-series full stop. I've always had a small cinder of hope, but not realistic expectation of a new Golden Sun game. I still don't expect anything, but I definitely feel the hopium calling to me.

While I definitely am a huge fan of Dragon Quest VII, I'm sceptical as for the validity of the rumours, as it's actually the latest released full remake, outside of Dragon Quest III (and soon I & II). Dragon Quest VII is, however, absolutely amazing, so I really hope it's true.

The best remakes are those that have a solid foundation to build upon. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is one of my favourite remakes of all time, and I have no doubt that I & II will be in the same category. Next up: Dragon Quest IV, V & VI. (It will probably be a WHILE)

Dragon Quest XI came out 8 years ago. It is, in my opinion, maybe the best JRPG of all time and a game that every fan of the genre owes it to themselves to play. It was also with this game that my love for the franchise went from regular to unconditional. Masterpiece.

Octopath Traveler 0. I've been eagerly awaiting a new entry in the series. I can't sing its praises enough - everything about Octopath screams quality JRPG, and I've been completely enthralled by both I and II. Also, Yasunori Nishiki is my favourite game composer. No contest.

As with Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, I & II will be a distant dream come true. It's unbelievable that we will have the Erdrick Trilogy fully remade before the year's end. I don't think I will be able to comprehend it before I have it in my hand. 3 months.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is looking absolutely gorgeous. Both DQ1 and 2 has such a legendary legacy and are the stepping stones on which so many JRPGs has trodden since. I'm so happy that they're getting a modern touch-up, and that they can get experienced anew. Soon.
