Spoke w/ a Venezuelan mother who waited 8 1/2 mos (!) in Matamoros, Tamaulipas for a CBP1 appt. “We felt desperate,” she described of the uncertainty waiting.

An Indigenous Miskito young adult from Nicaragua who doesn’t speak one of the only 3️⃣ languages CBP1 is available in was unable to use it and required support.

🔺Homeland Security must ensure equitable language access & 🛑 punishing people seeking asylum who enter w/o appts.
