How has journalism been like online? Would you like to share your thoughts about what’s working and what isn’t? If you’re a Carleton J-School student, check out how you can participate in a survey about this here: carleton.ca/sjc/2022/shift…

Really great to speak to @CBCAdrianH’s Carleton J-School students this morning about #traumainformed #journalism alongside my research collaborator dave seglins. We shared with students the TAKE CARE approach to doing this work. #cdnmedia

But I would love to hear more from Carleton J-School students. Check out this research project I’ve been working on with Christianna Alexiou carleton.ca/sjc/2022/shift… and let us know if you have questions or want to take part.

Opportunity for Carleton J-School students to share their perceptions of studying journalism in shifting environments — from the classroom, to online, and now hybrid. Great continuing project by Trish Audette-Longo and Christianna Alexiou carleton.ca/sjc/2022/shift…

Hey Carleton J-School students, have you heard about the research project I’m working on with Trish Audette-Longo? Check it out here and see how you can participate: carleton.ca/sjc/2022/shift…

Can't wait to see what @dominique_gene achieves as news editor. The Charlatan is super lucky to have you onboard!

This is so well deserved! Mark Ramzy has continuously impressed me since he first pitched to the features section. So happy for you 🎉

It was such a pleasure to be interviewed by Dáminí Awóyígà for The Real Her project!

Congratulations Trish Audette-Longo, this is such a well-deserved award! 👏🏻

Journalism students see an industry in crisis. It’s time to talk about it theconversation.com/journalism-stu… via The Conversation Canada

I wrote this with BJ22 grad Christianna Alexiou — we started this project in 2020 with questions about teaching and learning journalism through the pandemic. Over time, what we heard from students opened up more questions about journalism jobs, work-life balance & uncertain futures.

THANK YOU to student participants who took surveys and answered questions in interviews, Carleton J-School Allan Thompson and Carleton University Teaching & Learning Services for supporting this research, and susannah schmidt for edits that made this Conversation story stronger.

Uncertainty, precarity and burnout should be openly and collectively addressed in j-schools as a means for re-imagining better ways of working write Trish Audette-Longo Christianna Alexiou "Talking through crises can allow for discussion of alternatives and solutions." theconversation.com/journalism-stu…

It was a pleasure to write this article with Trish Audette-Longo! Thank you susannah schmidt for your thoughtful edits.

I know from experience that it's hard, but completely necessary, to have these conversations in the classroom. New on J-Source by Trish Audette-Longo and Christianna Alexiou "Students see an industry in crisis. It’s time to talk about it" j-source.ca/journalism-stu…

"Crises ask journalism educators, students and practitioners to grapple with sharing stories about what the future could hold. What will journalists’ jobs look like in five years? Or 25 years?" j-source.ca/journalism-stu… h/t The Conversation Canada
