I’m in Cheadle Hulme this morning where a large section of Cheadle Road is currently taped off. It’s shut from the Schools Hill/Wilmslow Road junction down to Farley Court, near the entrance to Bruntwood Park

Here at the end of the cordon near the Village hotel, traffic is being stopped and sent up Schools Hill. The hotel is still accessible via its car park

Im in Manchester city centre where a massive police cordon is currently in place after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle

It has happened on the stretch of the road between the W.H. Lung supermarket and the University of Manchester campus which is currently taped off

A long stretch of Upper Brook Street is currently closed to traffic from near the MRI at Grafton Street to near the junction with Booth Street, close to the Mancunian Way flyover

Pedestrians are being allowed to walk down the closed stretch of road and access the university campus and Oxford Road, but the inner cordon from the junction with Brunswick Street to near Booth Street East is completely sealed off

Someone who works nearby has just said he came out earlier to see the road blocked off and two ambulances at the scene, with paramedics attending to a man.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed it was a van which was involved in the collision with a pedestrian this morning. It has just been put onto the back of a low loading recovery truck inside the cordon

The WH Lung oriental supermarket is still open, however people are having to access it from the rear, next to the Brunswick estate in Ardwick Upper Brook Street and the access roads to it still shut off
