Sunak reconfirms end of Furlough. So what to help those facing Furlough Cold Turkey? Answer: Cash to employers of £1,000 per employee retained through to end Jan. Unlikely to change many redundancy decisions but perhaps enough to help businesses at the margin #SummerStatement

What we saw today doesn't look to be enough to dampen the effect of Furlough Cold Turkey come Halloween. Many businesses will be hoping for more in the Chancellor's Autumn Budget and that he won't wait till Christmas Eve to reveal the goodies he has in mind #SummerStatement

The 6 month targeted #VAT cut may bring a smile to the face of restauranteurs but won’t apply to any alcoholic tipple accompanying the food. Combined with the £10 #eatouttohelpout 1/2 price offer per diner per meal, this Chancellor has been putting his money where his mouth is

Clearly, Rishi knows what he's doing. Belated thoughts: - Kickstart scheme great & well targeted - Furlough bonus right signal but £1,000/employee may not alter employee decisions either way - Effect of hospitality VAT cut & voucher will depend on unknown consumer psychology
