Really enjoyed the launch of the Somerset Children's Book Group SomersetCBG yesterday. Great event and fascinating talks by Martin Brown and Fleur Hitchcock = same name on all social media. and the energy and enthusiasm of poet Laura Mucha was amazing. The children are loving the goodie bag from Nosy Crow

Very positive article about the #SeaweedRevolution book in New Scientist, one of the most established science magazines in english for the last 70 years... Really cool. A lot of traction for next week's book launch! newscientist.com/article/236921…

I see a lot of claims of things that could transform our world, but seaweed really does seem to have that potential. Vincent Doumeizel's great book on it is out this week. Read my New Scientist review of it here: newscientist.com/article/236921…

It's Insect Week! I love some of the pictures in this article. The damselfly by Pete Burford, the cuckoo bees by Luke D Chambers and the harlequin bugs by Nikita Richardson really blow me away: newscientist.com/article/243663…

As someone who is always trying to run faster (despite my ageing legs), I was rather sceptical about the "slow running movement" and its claimed benefits. But in the course of researching this article about it, I became a total convert: newscientist.com/article/mg2633…
