Surprised to see a Greenshank at Anglezarke Res this evening, not an uncommon bird, but in Chorley it's patch gold ChorleyNats

Been interesting watching a family of 6 Hobbies a mile or so from the house this summer. Here's the only time I could get all 4 juvs together ChorleyNats

A greenshank on Anglezarke Reservoir and 3 little egret at Upper Rivington were the highlights of todays #WeBS count. Very quiet otherwise, sadly there were more plastic bottles and crisp packets on the water than wildfowl in many places. Wetland Bird Survey ChorleyNats United Utilities

A wander around Yarrow Valley Country Park threw a surprise in the form of a very showy Great White Egret. Also Treecreeper, Goldcrest, Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe and a Jay on a gloomy afternoon walk. ChorleyNats
