Hope all the doctors who changed over today found it as smooth as possible ❤️ and all the nurses on shift today supported them and made it as welcoming as they could, because it’s not a nice feeling having to start new on an unfamiliar ward/unit 😌

“Take a deep breath, and have a moment of internal calm” best thing ever said to me on a night shift, actually the best advice a doctor has ever giving me, ever🤣🤣 #quotesoftheday

The NHS is in crisis. Patients are unsafe. Our members are saying loud and clear: enough is enough. For the first time in the RCN’s history, our members have mandated strike action throughout the UK. RT to support nursing. #FairPayForNursing bit.ly/3tieEGQ

RCN Newly Registered Nurses I really hope the public see the correlation between a pay rise and safe working conditions, rention and safer patient care. I don't want this construed to be about the pay only and to ignore the wider implications of Nurses' salaries.

#HelloMyNameis Jack I don’t think any nurses actually *want* to strike. We want to go to work in safe conditions and take care of our patients. It’s all we have ever wanted to do

How can nurses expect to have a decent work life balance when their phones are constantly alerting them of the need for staff to come in the next day & to please call if you’re interested in coming in? How does staff already scheduled avoid the dread of knowing they’ll be short?

Several trusts have declared critical incidents in the last 24 hrs; some calling in all staff due to exceptional hospital pressures. Derby. Brighton. Nottingham. Grampian. Stoke. Watching from afar as an emergency medicine doctor of 20 years, never seen anything quite like it🤯

I would say as long as you still have compassion and willingness to help those who need you in your heart then you will keep going ❤️ yes it’s now tougher but being a nurse is so special you can’t match the feeling anywhere else. We will get through this tough time, together 🫶🏽🤞🏽

If junior doctors vote to strike (many think it inevitable) The BMA says they will walk out for 72 hours and will include emergency care - this is a significant move that will put huge strain on NHS services. Consultants will cover, but marks a major escalation in pay disputes.

Absolutely not 😂 reducing hours on the same pay but then going to work 4 days instead of 3 a week makes no sense to me 🤣 the maths isn’t mathing
