The lesson from the Halli/Elon thing is that Halli is one of the most respected designers in Silicon Valley. He could charge a wild hourly rate just to consult. Yet even he had to deal with this kind of vicious ableism around his work. Imagine what other disabled folks endure.

Last year we found that people of colour are paying £250 more for car insurance. One year on the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has still failed to take action on the ‘ethnicity penalty’. The FCA needs to step up and take action. Read our report ⤵️ citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/our-w…

1/ What happens when paying back debt is just too big a mountain to climb? There are options that help people write off debt and get a fresh start - but only if they can pay upfront application fees. This doesn’t make sense - and it isn’t working. 🧵

.Department for Work and Pensions, your disability benefits White Paper says you will ‘improve the overall experience of, and trust in, the benefits system for disabled people.’ Yet this video stigmatises people accessing benefits, often those in vulnerable situations. Do better - take this down

Absolutely despicable from The Telegraph, claiming Disabled people are a 'tax burden' for being too sick to work. We *should* be given the money we need to live! What makes people think they will be exempt from being disabled by society one day...?

The renters reform bill is committing to ending section 21 ”no fault” evictions. This could level the playing field in the private rented sector. But the government must introduce protections to stop the new system being abused. Read our report ⤵️ citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/our-w…

I appreciate that this makes me sound like a massive loser, but I'm SO fascinated by the data science behind the Taylor Swift tickets pre-sale sign up and how the info I gave will impact whether I get pre-sale access. you have my postcode! why! how're you using it?

I don't buy the "what if landlords leave the market" argument. If a landlord sells, the home goes on the market. Someone else - another landlord or a homeowner - buys it (see post-2008). True, we need more social housing urgently to pick up slack but homes simply do not disappear
