the below thread is vital feedback from miles jennings and a16z crypto on the Senate's risky departure from regulatory framework established in the House's bipartisan CLARITY bill. In particular, there are two extremely hard-fought 'wins' in CLARITY without which I would not

2/ 📜 That would make Permuto the first ever SEC-approved, U.S.-exchange-listed security that: → Trades publicly → Settles on a blockchain → Uses a native cryptoasset as part of its execution layer Think about that. It’s never been done.

Turns out that large coordinated attacks by criminal enterprises and nation states on insecure elements of blockchain systems and wallets are actually profitable. #sbc2025 #ChiaFixesThis

A nice chart that shows why more nodes in ETH (or any Blockchain for that matter) increases security, Sybil resistance, MEV resistance, etc... So why don't more L1s actually aim for higher node count and greater decentralization by design? #sbc2025

Commissioner Hester Peirce U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at #SBC2025 talking about privacy and cryptography in blockchain transactions, particularly in peer to peer transactions. #ChiaFixesThis with Offers by not having forced intermediaries that threaten privacy.

Proof of Stake has both accountable safety (too many votes, leading to voting for chains that violate rules) and accountable liveness (too few votes), which is harder. So why are consensus mechanisms (PoW and PoST) that rely on heaviest chain consensus belittled??? 🤦‍♂️ #sbc2025

Is your favourite blockchain backed by science, or based on hype? Chia Network has deep theoretical basis for its unique Nakamoto consensus, explained here at "The Science of Blockchain Conference 2025" by Krzysztof Pietrzak: youtube.com/live/6qFjjl9s6…

Speaker at #sbc2025 saying we as a "community" should care about decentralization, but not allow regulators to dictate what decentralization is. Which means that the "community" doesn't want legitimacy and compliance... No! A large part of the "community" wants the CLARITY Act.

Hearing #sbc2025 speakers try to denigrate Proof of Work because it "can be" 51% sybil attacked while minimizing Proof of Stake vulnerabilities around even reaching consensus by a 34% fault tolerance attack is head scratching...

Rehypothecation is dangerous, creates ecosystems that are a house of cards, inflates TVL/security budgets... but it seems like everyone forgets that fact when you repackage harmful forms of it as liquid staking. 🙄 sec.gov/newsroom/speec…

Today Permuto Capital submitted amended registration statements for the proposed MSFT, AVGO, and AAPL Trusts. Securities issued on chain, not the same "tokenized securities" as recently used by many others in the industry...
