SCOOP: The world’s largest online chess website chess.com is removing English grandmaster Simon Williams from games commentary. The move comes after Williams, FIDE ranked, was ordered by the Pension Ombudsman to repay £730,000 to a scheme which he was trustee.

Chess24 has now been down for many hours without any official word about what is happening. It's not yet clear if Chess24 is being shut down, but it was always obvious that this was the goal of the ChessCom purchase despite repeated denials.

Kramnik will need to make baseless cheating accusations for many more years to catch up to the number of times Hikaru has done it.

Kramnik has answered the ChessCom blog clearing Nakamura of cheating suspicion with a lawsuit threat, claiming he never accused Nakamura of anything. Kramnik was certainly accusing Nakamura, so he shouldn't have a case, but neither did Hans and he eventually won.

The original version of the ChessCom blog clearing Nakamura of cheat suspicion listed that they had "ran simulations on ChatGTP" as evidence of Nakamura's innocence. That portion of the blog was quickly removed.

Some of my replies have the odd idea that Hans didn't win his lawsuit. ChessCom reversed his ban and Magnus issued a statement saying there was no evidence of cheating in their game and he would play Hans if they met again. Hans has also hinted that he won a cash settlement

GM Wesley So's twitter likes are full of all of the worst Right wing cranks and bigotry. Matt Walsh, Trump, Majorie Taylor Green etc. He's liked a post saying "Trans Women are Con Men" and post about boycotts of companies that celebrate pride month.

Kramnik is not the first to post cheat accusations on his profile page. In 2017 Wesley So thought Alireza Firouzja was cheating and wrote "Saddened to know even 14 year olds from Iran cheat" on his profile.

Wesley So has deleted his twitter account.

It was always obvious that Chess24 was purchased to be shut down, although Rensch denied it. "The future of Chess24 will always be intact." "We have no intention to shut it down."

FIDE has always known that Magnus won't play in the 2024 candidates tournament. The reason they continue to list him on their website and social media posts is to trick journalists and potential sponsors that don't follow the sport closely enough to understand he isn't playing.

Hans will not be invited to events at the Saint Louis Chess Club for 2024. He destroyed a hotel room that the club purchased for him, causing thousands in damage.

Some players are asked to join a zoom call while playing in Titled Tuesday to be monitored and some are not. Last week Hans won a Titled Tuesday. For the next tournament he was asked to join the zoom call. He seems to say he will always be on the zoom call from now on.

This US Chess fed board member is not so subtly threatening to sue me. I also received a similar threatening email from US Chess president Randy Bauer. Even worse, they threaten to sue my employer Lichess, which has no connection to what I say on my personal twitter account.
