The passage of the cruel immigration bill marks an extremely bleak day for human rights in the UK. The UK government is sacrificing the rights and safety of vulnerable individuals for political gain. The bill is a cold-hearted attack on human rights. 🧵

🚨The UK Supreme Court has ruled the #RwandaPlan UNLAWFUL. We urge the government to build a sensible and compassionate system which prioritises safe routes for people fleeing war and persecution simply in search of home and peace.

Such a relief, government defeated over its plan to deport people to Rwanda on the uncontradicted evidence from UNCHR that they would be at risk of their asylum claims not being decided properly, and therefore risk of being returned to persecution in their home countries.
