Had the chance to catch up with a former student (Chase LaSpisa) during the ISA Midwest conference this morning. So sad that I'm missing out on his panel (our peacekeeping panel is the same time), but here's his paper for those who want to check it out!
Our Quincy Wright Distinguished Scholar Kelly Kadera or University of Iowa is remarkable for both her intuitive formal models and her ability to draw inspiration from literally anywhere and her devotion to mentorship. Pictured w/ her student @willowkreutzer, winner of the Lynne Rienner Award

It's here! I am so excited that my first solo-author paper is published in International Interactions! I find that states are less likely to engage in MIDs when they're embedded in IOs with more (on-average) gender-equal members.
Congrats to Chase LaSpisa for successfully defending his dissertation proposal today!! He is studying the relationship between offshore oil/gas and maritime conflicts using cool spatial data/methods.
I'm excited to announce that I'm joining University of Canterbury University of Canterbury as Lecturer in School of Language, Social and Political Sciences UCArts in January 2024! Looking forward to working with amazing colleagues, continuing my work on digital repression, and teaching quant.
