On this day in 1894, the Douglas of Charlotte Douglas was born. Ben Douglas served as Mayor Vi Lyles from 1935-41. His term included the first Eastern Airlines flight into CLT on May 17, 1937 and the City of Charlotte population topping 100K in 1940. bit.ly/2LrCt97
