We’ve hit 3,000,000 books for DC kids through #BooksFromBirth! 📚 📚 So proud of our partnership with DC Public Library & Dolly Parton Imagination Library! When I created this, the goal was simple - get books into every DC kids’ hands & homes. Today, nearly 100,000 kids have benefited so far!

Not the final score we wanted for the Nats, but Everett snagged his first ever foul ball and that’s good enough for a great time and big smiles at the Ballpark today! ⚾️ #NATITUDE

On this Labor Day, a reminder that DC can and will fight for workers’ rights. We’ve passed strong protections and given our Attorney General the tools to enforce the law. This past year alone, they’ve secured $9.5M in enforcement actions to protect DC workers.

Enjoyed spending some time with Barracks Row Main Street Main Street walking 8th Street SE to strategize on parks, roadway, & more ways to support our local businesses on the corridor. Then capped it off with a great lunch at the new Compliments Only!

Makes sense drivers don’t want to pay a $100 fine. Why not interview a few bus riders to see if they wanted the bus to move faster? Shouldn’t be too hard - there are more than 300,000 daily boardings on Metrobuses.

I led Council to give ABCA clear authority to take this important step against illegal shops for safety & fairness. DC deserves a safe, regulated market - but until Congress takes its hands off DC, we’ll have cumbersome workarounds. ABCA leadership says more 🔓 on the way soon!

What a beautiful morning for DC Bike Ride! Cora & I went down for some of the ride and block party. It’s a great day to celebrate getting around the city on two wheels. #bikedc

DC is one of the few systems where bus speeds are gradually increasing. Not by much, but still an outlier to other cities. As we haggle & hammer out bus lane ticketing & building more dedicated bus lanes, good to see some pay off by speeding up the bus & making it more reliable.

Very disappointed that DDOT DC’s transition plan to end Circulator leaves students, workers, & residents without a ride & drivers without a job. Their rushed plan prioritizes headways for Rosslyn; leaves Anacostia, SW, & Eastern Market behind. Will work with Metro Forward to improve.

An amazing celebration tonight opening the McCourt School for Public Policy and building out the Capitol Campus for Georgetown University. Got to be one of the best views in town too! Excited to see this campus build out between Union Station and downtown.
