WMATA is vital to our city & region. In January, we faced a doomsday budget that would have undermined the entire system. But today’s vote is possible because DC, MD, & VA invested in our future. Now let’s get dedicated funding & stop careening from one fiscal crisis to the next.

National Park Service announces they’re closing the central portion of Lincoln Park from May 3 to July 8 for “turf restoration”.

Because maybe this is the time that it’ll work?

A year ago we worked together & I was able to add new funds in the city budget to improve the basketball court, dog park, & entry to Kingsman Field on the 1300 block of D St NE. Tonight we worked through initial plans & designs. Finalized this fall & construction is next winter.

This is great news and another major step in our shared vision moving forward!!! Combine this with recent federal approval for massive station renovation, H Street Bridge reconstruction fully funded, & improvements already underway by Union Station management.

At today’s regional Transportation Planning Board meeting, we approved new funding for a DDOT project to examine improvements for Okie Street NE and MLK Jr Ave SE corridors. The goal is for DDOT to work on ways to improve safety, access, pedestrian connections, & more.
