I really wish every single person would write a newsletter. Not necessarily to make money from it. Not to quit their jobs and become a writer. Just to share what they're up to, what they're reading, what they're interested in. The number of interesting people I've met through my

A follow-up thought on this: Promoting my newsletter has become an incredible growth exercise on a personal level. In the beginning, I'd cringe so hard whenever someone told me they read my latest newsletter. I'd barely tell anyone in my offline world. Now, I openly talk about

This "what else I'm up to" section at the end of every newsletter has led to several conversations, introductions and opportunities. This is what I mean: every person should write a newsletter! Even if it's just once per month, even if it's super short, even if it's going out to

My relationship to stress is an area where I’ve most strongly experienced the beauty of neuroplasticity. I’ve literally rewired my brain in a way that movement has become an almost automatic reaction to stress. I still get as stressed and overwhelmed, but I don’t feel as stuck.

How do you react to work stress? Do you get angry? Do you shut down? Do you reach for your phone, or food? I know my tendency is to freeze and disconnect from everything and everyone around me. I stare at my laptop and click around aimlessly. I grab my phone and start

It almost feels too simplistic but I agree with Ed, humming is incredibly relaxing and grounding. Try it. Close your eyes. Relax your forehead. Unclench your jaw. 3 breath cycles, slowly in and out through the nose, and hum on the exhale. Focus on the sensation and the sound.

Be honest: do you know the difference between your central nervous system and your peripheral nervous system? Do you know which one does what? I didn't, until 2 years ago, and that's actually quite nuts. This is my body. My entire experience of my life is created by and

My life changed dramatically once I learned that the stress response activates the learning response. Frustration, discomfort, doubt, overwhelm—those all mean that your nervous system is changing. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be a reaction.

This is what I’ve come to love about growing older: you literally outgrow yourself. I just finished a 5 days breathwork and somatics retreat. I hugged, danced, shouted. I used the words “safe space” without a hint of irony. I wore an eyemask a lot of the time. Just a few years

My biggest gripe with social media is how it has destroyed so many people’s innate creativity. Bookmarking endless interior design posts, recipes, quotes, comedy clips—instead of putting the phone away and creating something themselves. I’ve been guilty of this too for a long

My life changed forever when I learned I can take control of my breathing and slow down my exhale—no matter where I am, who I'm with or what's going on around me. I'm literally sending a signal to my nervous system to activate the calm response.

I’ve been exploring a combination of body scans, breathwork and visualisation in my own sessions and it’s pretty nuts how well it works. Visualisation gets a bad rep because it’s usually associated with the cringe self help industry as a tool to manifest a million dollars in

Breathwork is simple, but not easy. Taking just 5 minutes out of your day to sit down, put the phone away and focus on slowing down your breathing has become a nearly impossible task for most people. And precisely because it's so rare and so difficult, it's worth prioritising.

Your life can change overnight once you understand that you don't need to resign yourself to feeling distracted and low energy. Your nervous system is not fixed. It has an incredible capacity to change and grow, learn and unlearn. But you need to put in the time and effort. You

You can energize your afternoons without the coffee crash, with a simple breathing exercise. Breathwork isn't just about slowing down or de-stressing. You can also use your breath to invigorate and create energy in the body and mind! All breathwork techniques are based on a

Why is the idea of neuroplasticity not drilled into us as kids? It’s arguably the most important thing to understand about ourselves, and widely accepted in the scientific community since the 1950s-60s: We can rewire our brains to think differently, learn new skills, get over

When you're stuck, write. Kidlin's Law is a theory that says: “If you can write the problem down clearly, then the matter is half solved.”
