Hey everyone, my Amex Platinum is up for renewal and I don’t want to continue it. I asked customer care if I could downgrade to Gold, but they said it’s not possible since I already have one. I know a few people who have two Gold cards though. Anyone knows how to go about it? A

❌ This is why you shouldn’t wait till the last minute to use your #Amex Platinum credits. 💳 I used my #Saks credit on June 30, but the charge posted on July 1, so it counted toward the next half (Jul–Dec). 🥹 Lost my Jan–June $50 credit just like that. ✔️ Lesson learned.

Chat support said they couldn’t help. Called Amex instead and the phone rep credited the $50 Saks benefit in under a minute. When I asked why chat couldn’t do it, he said “We have more tools and flexibility.” Same company, two totally different outcomes 🤷‍♂️
