You work long enough in this biz, you eventually get caught up in layoffs. Yesterday I lost my job at Vulture, the best gig I’ve ever had. Still processing but I’ll want to write again so please keep me in mind for freelance work or regular work or just general nice messages.

Being laid off sucks in a major way. But I am so touched and, honestly, surprised by all the friends and colleagues who have reached out to me. I've appreciated each and every DM, text and email. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it but nevertheless: thank you.

It's irrelevant to the case, at least as far as I know, but I would love for someone to question Kanye and Myers about the Hurricane Katrina telethon under oath.

Man, Devon Ivie is so good at what she does. As someone who was taken to a Doobie Brothers concert at an extremely young age, appreciated this.

THE BEAR returns tomorrow and I can't say anything about that yet, but I can resurface my extremely important analysis of Carmy's non-negotiables from last season. (Is it bad that I re-read this and was laughing at shit that I wrote? Oh well!) vulture.com/article/the-be…

"This dramedy — yes, it's both a drama and a comedy, and I will not be taking further questions on this matter — always does its best work when it's actively on deadline." My take on S4 of THE BEAR. tvguide.com/news/the-bear-…

My review of the final season of SQUID GAME, a show that is nothing like real life because who would consistently vote in favor of having their fellow citizens potentially killed? washingtonpost.com/entertainment/…
