One of the things I’m battling as a teacher more this year than ever before is this like, performative helplessness/incompetence. I have *so* many kids this year who are just committed to the bit that they have no idea what’s going on or how to do anything

$100 in groceries don’t even fill up the backseat anymore.

“Post-COVID” students are different. If you haven’t been teaching in a classroom in the last 3 years, you don’t understand. Please listen to teachers.

We spend 50% more hours in school than Finland. They get 15 mins of recess every hour. They have NO standardized tests except for PISA in HS & they outperform us every time. The irony is that they created their system based on US schools and US university research in the 1970's.

Today was so incredible. I feel reenergized knowing that our district is putting time, energy, and resources into creating equitable learning conditions for each and every student.

It’s been 3 weeks and I still can’t believe my first class of kids are officially graduated 😭❤️

Going through the residency year is hard! Having a mentor who has some shared experiences makes it easier. All of these mentors are Project Inspire alumni, spanning Cohort 0 (when it was called Teach Here) to Cohort 13, all of whom are teaching and thriving in Hamilton County Schools

Oh nothing, just representing The Howard School and presenting on my work with the Missionary Ridge/North River Student Ambassador Program. The session was literally packed but people stayed and engaged with us. Grateful that I get to do such important work! #HCSConference2024
