Someone told me this week (not a patient) that they get more mental health support and empathy at the food bank than their cmht. Where have we got too.

As a trainee clinical psychologist nearing qualification I am disgusted by the professions silence. The images coming out of Rafah yesterday a designated safe zone, showed images of babies limp lifeless decapitated bodies, civilians burnt to crisp …

The NHS does not need to be ‘reformed’. It needs proper investment and for privatisation to be eliminated. Politicians are trying to convince you that the model is broken, because they want to enable more public money to funnel into private hands 🚨🚨🚨

As a training programme that is notorious for burnout because of multiple demands, unavoidable out of hours working, and generally being very stressful, it blows my mind that funded therapy is still not an option for DClinPsy students

Absolutely this! Why not invest in counselling psychologists to support the current challenges in recruitment in mental health services

Aren’t psychologists supposed to be trained in self-reflection? Why so many getting defensive over valid criticism of lack of racial diversity within this profession? Why so narrow minded? Why can’t you acknowledge that your profession actively profiting from systemic racism.

The only reason I can think of why is because of our skin colour. Systemic racism and discrimination meant so many opportunities were lost, not just during the past few months but the past few DECADES & my family were painted as a “hysterical” & “overdramatic” as a result.

Intellectualization creates a gap or lack of rapport between you and your life. You may think about things so much that you get into the state where you are eating the menu instead of the dinner.

What if we stopped calling it 'borderline personality disorder' and started calling it what it often is: survival patterns from unmet needs, trauma, misrecognition and rejection. #TraumaNotPD

My wish for the new year is for a global shift away from the individualistic “new year, new me” mindset and towards unity and collective rage towards the injustices in the world.

What people call cPTSD is a constellation of personality organization developed around reminders of their traumatic experiences. Their masking is also associated with avoiding vulnerability but with a more destructive skills breakdown when conscious masking becomes too laborious.

Benzos and SSRIs aren't anxiety solutions—they're handcuffs disguised as medicine. For decades I've watched doctors transform a highly treatable condition into lifelong dependency. The truth? Panic attacks aren't dangerous. And you can break free without pills. 95% of people
