The claim that “Jesus is Lord” also says “Caesar is not.” It’s both a spiritual and political statement—and is designed to tarnish your public reputation.
"Culture is not to be conquered, or converted, but incarnated, inhabited, and impregnated with the seeds of the gospel." Leonard Sweet, So Beautiful (2009), 182.
A friendly theological reminder that racism won’t be “prayed away” like some Charismatics believe.
But prayer can form us into a particular people that powerfully resist racism in its individual, interpersonal and institutional forms.
