#EliminateTFAs from ghee is the best cost-effective intervention to prevent various noncommunicable diseases NCDs.

We have missed the 2023 deadline. But #Pakistan can still catch up with 2025 deadline of elimination of trans fatty acid #TFAElimination. CGPA is assisting governments to put resources in place for monitoring and enforcement of trans fats in food supply.

A large number of people in #Pakistan eat unhealthy and harmful food. Owing to the dietary intake, they are fast becoming diabetic, heart patient, hypertensive, and their mental wellbeing is also being compromised.

As per recommendations of the World Health Organization, Pakistan's food authorities must incorporate Pakistan Standards related to the iTFA reduction in the licensing system. #EliminateTFAs #PreventNCDs

#Pakistan must reduce iTFAs in ghee so that its population does not consume an extremely harmful ingredient.

We need to modify the food supply in order to change the food environment which has become obesogenic and diabetogenic. Pakistan now needs to enforce the iTFA related limit of less than 2% in ALL foods specially the banaspati ghee.

Let us not make iTFAs related regulation in #Pakistan a policy success, but implementation failure. We need to enforce the regulation, making it part of the food liscening system. #PreventNCDs #FoodGovernance
