Archaeology takes us to some truly amazing places, and we couldn't help but snap a photo of this beautiful view of Schiehallion in the #ScottishHighlands to share on this #TerrificTuesday. Talk about a #ViewFromTheOffice! #ScottishArchaeology #ScottishHistory #Munro

This one is for all our #Industrial archaeologists! We recently completed an excavation in the Greater Manchester area during which we searched for the remains of an old glassworks factory. Who doesn't like a beautiful old brick wall? #IndustrialArchaeology #Glassworks

This #FindsFriday is a lovely sherd of Samian ware, just moments after it was pulled out of a ditch. It came from a great site in #NorthYorkshire, where we’re investigating a series of enclosure ditches and pits which are likely representative of a #RomanoBritish settlement.

Now, THAT is a complicated looking bunch of features! We've got ditches (yes, multiple) and a really big pit all coming together to tangle up. Whoever got to draw the plan of all this definitely had a good time 😉 #Archaeology #Yorkshire #BritishArchaeology

It’s a stony #FindsFriday this week, with this gorgeous Iron Age saddle #quern (seen from three different angles, no less) recovered from excavations in #Angus, #Scotland. Querns were used for grinding all kinds of things and are indicative of food processing activities.

You like pits? Well, good news - we've got loads of 'em! We've been working on a site in #Yorkshire that's host to pit clusters, pit alignments, and solo lone pits, too!

We've really enjoyed cleaning up all the different phases of floors and walls (and pondering over various cellars!) in this very late #medieval to early post-medieval building in #WestYorkshire.

It’s a delicious #FindsFriday today with this oyster shell. It has a near-perfect V-shaped notch on the ventral margin, a result of the technique used to open the shell. This oyster was found on a Roman-age site, a testament to the Romans’ well-documented love of this mollusc.
