A presentation ceremony took place for the Glasgow Charity Cup.

At Glasgow City Chambers, the trophy was handed over to Celtic representatives, following their victory over Rangers.

As well as winning the league, Celtic’s 1892-93 cup record was as follows:

* Won the Glasgow Charity Cup
* Lost the Scottish Cup Final
* Lost the Glasgow Cup Final

1892-93 saw the Bhoys first won the Scottish League. This involved:

The Scottish League AGM saw Abercorn voted out of the league.

Celtic may have organised votes against them due to anger after Abercorn fans attacked Celtic players earlier in the season.

It was reported in different newspapers that Celtic were looking at improvements to their new ground.

This included laying a new pitch in the close season before season 1893-94.

Adverts appeared in newspapers around Scotland advertising a circus which included Celtic players playing exhibition matches!

However this was unofficial and there were no current players involved in this.

At an SFA meeting, Celtic’s Dan Doyle received a month’s suspension after being sent off against Third Lanark.

A Thirds player who was also sent off avoided a ban.

The friendly match – at Forthbank – ended in a 1-1 tie.
