Edinburgh tonight Summerhall Modern Studies
Nice to get home to roast my chestnuts on an open fire, but I already miss these Modern Studies guys (+Jenna Fire Records ) sorely. 11 days, beginning in Glasgow, finishing in Narnia. Wonderful crowds. Great to share a couple of stages with @alexisbloke on viola too.
Way way back in the Mysts of Covide, it was my unmitigated pleasure to arrange and (carefully) record strings for this exquisite song by Alison Eales, Nerves of Steel. Nimble fingers provided by Simon Graham Emma Peebles Harriet Davidson and Chris Sergeant. Lovely to see it out in the world.
Glasgow tonight with Andrew Wasylyk. Come one, come all.
Two days of Glasgow based lovelitude starting today with Andrew Wasylyk at St. Lukes, and concluding tomorrow with Modern Studies at the ooollllld hairdressers. I'm so excited that I have developed a rash.
Very much looking forward to picking up again where I left off (care of an intervening global lurgy) playing with kristin hersh, touring her new album Clear Pond Road (Fire Records ) in the UK and Ireland in Sep/Oct: firerecords.com/kristin-hersh-… Come. She's fucking amazing.
Three opportunities to catch Emily Scott performing her new album with glorious strings, sinuous bass (Susan Bear ) and bangy drums (Owen Williams), plus the most special of special guests in Edinburgh Festival Fringe - 14th/15th August, St. Vincent's Chapel, Edinburgh.
Fiona Rutherford (Fiona Rutherford)'s album Seed is continuing to garner tip top reviews, and rightly so, for it is a twisty turny auditory voyage to the tickly bit at the centre of the soul. Played cello on it, so I did. And the strings were recorded here. Wot larks. ❤️🔥❤️🔥
