We can confirm that the now viral video showing a fireball in the sky during Middle Tennessee’s violent and catastrophic tornadoes last weekend was indeed NES power equipment at our North Substation. Check out the footage from our security cameras. #NashvilleTornado2023 #Tspotter

We've already seen severe storms across Middle TN this morning. Although storms will decrease into midday, they will increase again this afternoon/evening when the main threat of damaging winds, large hail, flooding & a few tornadoes is expected. Keep staying weather aware today!

If we had to describe our May in one picture, it would be this! Don't forget - if you received any damage yesterday or early this morning from storms please let us know with a photo, approximate time / location, and #tspotter

No clouds forecast across Middle TN tonight. Things may be lining up for us to see the Aurora! The Space Weather Prediction Center is forecasting a G4 geomagnetic storm tonight, which means there's a chance that we could see the Aurora. Good luck and happy viewing tonight!

Best timing for aurora is probably 10 pm to 2 am...that being said, with the northern lights already visible across parts of the northeastern US, it could be anytime after dark through midnight.

Look. It's 5 days away. Lots can (and probably will) change between now and then. But here's a head's up, just in case. For now, just enjoy this beautiful weather #tnwx #MiddleTN

Storms will form to our west late today then move our way this evening and overnight. Damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes will be possible with the storms that impact Middle Tennessee. Get your safe places ready, then MOVE IT! MOVE IT! to that place if a warning is issued.

The forecast for this evening and overnight is right on track. Currently, storms are just moving into western KY and northwest TN and are definitely headed this way. (See the radar loop from Paducah below.) We will be sure to update you if any severe weather watches are issued.

1250 am UDPATE: Heads up western #MiddleTN! Two tornado-warned storms moving through the area. The southern storm has a confirmed tornado with it! If you are in one of these warnings, you should be in your shelter now. #tnwx

Just to clarify, this is NOT the main severe weather threat today, but there is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the highlighted area through 9 am CT. Biggest concern is damaging wind (60 mph) and hail (up to an inch).

While there is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch out for portions of #MiddleTN through 9 am, the main severe weather threat will come tonight. Here are some graphics laying out the threats and the timing for tonight. This has the potential to be a pretty big outbreak. Spread the word!
