Matoaca Elementary celebrated Earth Day by planting seeds in the school garden. Students in every grade helped plant the new garden space, which was made possible by the PTA, school administration and fourth grade teacher Christine Miller.

More than 40 #oneCCPS students were eligible for career signing day. Through career and technical education classes and work-based learning experiences, students from every Chesterfield County high school have jobs waiting for them after they receive their high school diplomas.

Veterinary science students from CTC@Courthouse visited College of Agriculture sites at Virginia State University. The students explored sheep facilities and pastures and undertook some diagnostic sampling.

As a service learning project, Monacan High students run the Chiefs Closet like a boutique — complete with attractive displays, business communications and social media promotions.

Each week, O.B.Gates Elementary garden club tends to the school’s outdoor garden and learns how to use indoor grow towers. Almost 30 students in grades 3-5 gather with teacher Jessica Coe and master gardener Kandi Chamberlain to get their hands in the dirt and learn about growing plants.
