CCI Srs defeat Maple Ridge last night in SCAA league play, 51-42. Owls home crowd rocking again as Vaughan Kelly leads CCI scoring with 23 pts. Fighting Owls now 2-3 overall; with 1-1 league record. Playing in Barrie Showdown tournament this weekend.

Sr Owls open Barrie Showdown with a 56-45 win over Barrie St Joan of Arc. Outstanding team rebounding (40 rebs) was paced by Liam Light (10). Vaughan Kelly led the scoring with 28 pts. CCI had a season low number of turnovers and shot 40% from the field. Game 2 at 6 pm

Fighting Owls make a gritty 2nd half comeback from down 11 at half to win 51-49 over Kingston SS. Fantastic defence. All 12 guys contributed to an impressive “w”! 46 FG% incl 38 3FG%. Vaughan Kelly doing it all with 21 pts, 7 assists and 8 rebs. Off to the semis!

What a weekend for sr Owls at Barrie Showdown. Went 3-1, and took the Bronze after beating GW Williams 55-45. Great contributions from all 12 guys! Shout out to Liam Light for his performance in final game…leading with rebounds and 15 pts.

Owls win over Banting last night 65-52 puts league record at 2-1, and 6-4 overall. Team FG% of 48% along with 15 assists. 9 different players scored. Bennett Pearson with 10 rbs. Vaughan Kelly filling it up with 33 points and 5 assists. An impressive 13/23 from the field.

Sr Owls hold off Barrie North Vikings to win 51-47 at home. Hayden Jones 23 pts on 14 shots provided key scoring. Defensive shout out to Ben Mundle and Max Sloan for key stops on a tough check. Owls now 3-1 in SCAA play. On the road to Bear Creek next Monday.

First Sr Owls game in 2023 was a wild affair! Owls down early but clawed back in second half, leading until final minutes where Orillia took the lead on a rare “power play”. Down by 1 in the dying seconds, CCI’s Max Sloan drained the buzzer beater trey…Owls win 56-54!
