No instruments? Pshhhh. These guys found desk drums today as our friends at home sang “Pass the Witch’s Broomstick!” We even made it a non-circle circle game! So much fun! #flexiblelearners

Missing this something fierce today. I can’t wait for the day we can gather again and sing for our veterans. Thank you for your service! We sing in our hearts for you today! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Love “walking” into a breakout room to a group going the extra mile: “So I know it’s a hand clap, but I’m adding my guitar because I think it’ll make it better!” Yeah, it will!! 🎸

Favorite quote of the day: Yesterday I decided to add 2 sections to our hand clap and a background recorder part. So basically I need to have 6 people in my group but there are only 3. Best problem I’ve had to solve today!! 😍

We can’t play our recorders in school, so we practiced our fingerings on pencils, and then tried playing on our coded recorders! Not perfect by any stretch but a great way to play our rhythms and read our notes on the staff! #d64leadwithlove

Three cheers for music teachers! 🎵🎶 Sing-alongs, early exposure to musical instruments, and opportunities for all students to perform in front of family and friends - your work is so important! #ThankYouThursday

I’m so thankful for Margaret Gorcik and Mrs. Knapp for sharing their knowledge of creating Scratch instruments, games, and songs! Our SSs at Franklin love learning about instruments, how sounds are made, and how they can use them rhythmically in songs! #d64leadwithlove 🎶

So thankful for such a giving department and school community! Margaret Gorcik found this great rap and our first graders loved it! The #magicalmusicmobile added to the ambiance! Alex Rubenstein gifted us our newest lights! Thanks so much!

Another fun activity created by Margaret Gorcik. The kids loved composing their so mi patterns and sent me a million screenshots of their creations after they played them on the Scratch xylophones! I didn’t even ask them to turn in! They were just that proud.

So happy have everyone back and making real music again! This week in 5th grade we explored 6/8 time and had a great time showing what we learned on the boomwhackers! #d64music #falcons64 #d64lovestolearn

District 64 has the best subs! Mrs. Bednarz made sure the students didn’t skip a beat in music class! #punintended This group of 5th graders composed their own rhythm activity complete with words!
