I appreciate that this standard format is giving us explicit evidence that day of judgment is generally better than sunfall. Obviously that’s contextual, but it’s a satisfying rebuke to the claims that sunfall was egregious power creep (because it’s broadly better against jank).

Truly wild the margin by which Portland Airport is the best I’ve ever flown in. Really incredibly easy to be just as good, too. All every other airport has to do is copy their policy of requiring stores to match regular street prices instead of charging $5 for a water. And Yet.

(I know it won’t really mean anything since it’s not what the sets were designed for- but:) I’d really dig an event for extra-small standard; only WoE cards and forward. Really curious how the vibes of 2 year standard compare to 3 year standard.

Alright, I got a lot of thoughts on UW control in Standard (mostly pertaining to how it’s good). And some examples of how to improve it (stop being a coward, play 4 jace 4 stock up). But many lists disrespected aggro too much (Smite is good, lockdown bad). Gonna stream tonight.

Alrighty, going live to talk about UW Control in Standard post-PT. Deck's great, I've learned some things, and I've got strong opinions on where to go from here twitch.tv/chrisbotelho

What single word in magic card names has the highest average power level across all cards printed with it? Wrath? Iteration? Dragonlord? (It’s mox, so for the sake of interesting conversation we’re looking for 2nd place)

I hate the word restaurant so much. At what point do we all agree to scrap it and start spelling it restraunt the way it’s actually pronounced?

Something about this card makes me really want to see what Portal: Three Kingdoms would look like with modern art and game design. Surely there’s gotta be at least some interest in a Universes Beyond that WotC doesn’t even need to pay for the rights to?

Kinda sad to see no bans in Standard. Does it need it? Is the format less than great? No. But I’d really like to see the threshold for bans reduced from ban-as-needed to bans-as-whimsy. Keep me interested. Jingle those keys. We gotta make up for rotation drought somehow.

This has been living in my head rent free and I need closure. Is there a white version of wisteria that looks like this vaguely radially symmetrical shape that isn’t the purple viney-clustery ones I’m familiar with? Or are these plumerias? They remind me a lot of plumerias.
