Cows take worthless cellulose and marginal land that would otherwise produce zero human food and convert it into the most nutrient-dense food on earth. Name another species with that ROI.

When we first started The Woolshire we never had any idea of growing to the point of buying a wool mill. However we soon realized that it was necessary. This mill and many like it used to be the backbone of our communities, providing batting and textiles. Today many are gone

We talk about it mostly in the context of employment growth, but all sorts of indicators we typically use to gauge cyclical economic strength are going to be distorted because of the immigration crackdown

I’ve made money and lost money on cattle, same with cotton, wheat and Milo. Prices go up, prices go down. All part of the cycle. Prepare for the worst, rejoice when it’s the best. My 2 cents….

Breanna Morello The CHIPS Act allocated $280 billion to boost U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, more than twice Intel’s entire market value. Yet just 4% of that sum was enough to purchase a 10% stake in Intel. That contrast should raise serious questions about where the rest of the money is

This, and the resentment toward boomers. (I’m not a boomer) Is it envy? Jealousy? Entitlement? At any rate, it doesn’t do you any good to be resentful. In fact it’s quite unhealthy and is an obstacle to your own success.

My Iowa guys have sprayed fungicide and still have both southern rust and tar spot. Some have decided to pull the trigger on a second application, but that’s a hard call when you’re already facing negative margins at today’s corn prices.

I studied sustainable agriculture for a summer during college in South America. After going to processing plants down there, I will only eat US Beef. If you saw the nasty carcasses that I did, you would definitely buy from a local rancher and not a grocery store! Demand US Beef!
