I last dived Cousine Island in Seychelles in 2005 and 2011. The reefs were in a sorry state following the 1998 coral bleaching event. Incredible to see them again this week after the 2016 bleaching event - they are thriving. East and west sides of island 2005 & 2022

On the reefs the Lancaster Environment Centre & ExeterMarine teams are surveying corals & fish, mapping nutrient seascapes, running turf algal productivity experiments, & investigating secondary production, sediment budgets & endolith availability to parrotfish. It’s been busy! 1 Island to go…
