CAWG is losing a wonderful woman, watershed coordinator Karalee is moving on. Karalee has been with the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group for 12 years and has transformed the area. She will leave an everlasting imprint on CAWG, where her work will be forever remembered.😊

This Tuesday, CAWG taught East Wiltshire Intermediate School students the importance of tree planting. More interestingly, each student planted a tree themselves with some instruction. #tree #education

Congratulations to CAWG's new Watershed Coordinator, Hannah MacLean. Hannah began eagerly volunteering with CAWG in 2016, where she developed a passion for protecting fish species and habitats. In 2018 she was hired as a vital part of CAWG, working closely with Karalee to learn.

Thank you to all who came to our tree giveaway this Canada Day. We successfully gave away more than 600 trees. It was lovely to meet and connect with community members!

Last week, was a successful week of shoreline cleanup. On Friday, we hauled a truckload of debris to the trash. CAWG ecstatically joined the mission to restore and recover our island's beauty!

Yesterday, CAWG spent the day pulling the invasive Himalayan Balsam at Beach Grove trail with the PEI Invasive Species Council, the PEI Department of Forest Fish and Wildlife, and the Ellen's Creek watershed. Together we successfully removed truckloads!
