OK so I’m lachrymose anyway but this surprise send off for ⁦Andrew Edwards⁩ after his last show on ⁦BBC Radio Leeds⁩ was a total tear jerker.

It’s hard to put into words just what a loss Andrew Edwards is to local radio and the BBC. A rare thing in broadcasting - someone who’s incredible talent is matched by his kindness, generosity and willingness to help others. A finer presenter, and gentleman you will never meet.

Three years ago today, my darling Mum died of Covid six weeks after my Dad. I’m thinking of all those who lost their lives; all those suffering the pain of bereavement and all those who did and continue to do their best to help their fellow human beings through this catastrophe.
