Dementia often results in this telescoping of time: an event in the distant past becomes adjacent to the present. Normally, that's a problem. But not so in church. After all, I was using the same liturgy of the BCP she heard then; I was preaching the same Gospel

I am proud to say that I heard one of the few sermons about evangelism and our duty to share the gospel to everyone regardless of circumstances, culture, or nation today at Grace Episcopal Church. Thank you, to the Rev. Seldon!

Seeing pictures of a recent episcopal consecration in the CofE once again convinces me that the modest dignity of rochet and chimere are far more fitting and appropriate than cope and mitre.

Infant dedication is not equivalent to Baptism and does not incorporate into the Covenant. Infant dedication and Baptism are not equivalent options. Clergy who tolerate or encourage the view that Baptism should not be administered to infants are acting contrary to Article 27.

From a 1799 sermon by PECUSA's Bishop William White, a stark description of the threat posed by the Revolutionary regime in France. (The sermon pointed to White's Federalist sympathies - a very good thing, of course.)

This is excellent on Herbert. The description of his articulation of "simplicity in the heart of complexity" echoes Prayer Book piety. Importantly, he is also a unifying figure for Anglicans, not easily pinned to the various allegiances of the early 17thC and centuries since.
