If food sovereignty in Europe can be made compatible with Von der Leyen's project then I want nothing to do with this iteration of food sovereignty/agroeco. But what I think is necessary is to hold onto food sov/agroeco, which means critiquing this creeping pragmatism.

For La Via Campesina to mean anything in Europe, it has to be thoroughly anti-colonial, anti-imperialist and antiracist. We're at a time of rising fascism and eco-apartheid in Europe. Our solidarity must be with the global majority. True FS/AE will never be achieved thru the EU.
