We will always protect the constitutional right for Angelenos to peacefully protest. However, violence, destruction and vandalism will not be tolerated in our City and those responsible will be held fully accountable.

Agitators have splintered into and through out the Downtown Area. Residents, businesses and visitors to the Downtown Area should be alert and report any criminal activity. Officers are responding to several different locations to disperse crowds. An “UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY” is

This is so frustrating and painful for Downtown. Vandalizing our neighborhood does nothing to move the needle for migrant communities and it just opens the door for more intervention from the Federal Government.

Would love to our elected leaders defend our neighborhood and ask folks to stop the destruction. 90K people live in DTLA, this is not an empty civic center. Our neighborhood is being ransacked tonight, and we are a vibrant community where thousands of immigrants live and work.

Good reporting — 30K DTLA residents are immigrants and so many of our business owners are too. Protesting is important and good. Looting, vandalizing, and destruction is bad. I suspect most of the people doing the latter aren’t in our community to make a point about ICE.

Grateful for a DTLA resident exemption and that the Mayor, police chief, downtown community partners, and Ysabel Jurado and their teams listened to our feedback on this. Hoping this helps us maintain safety and order while we show up as a City for our immigrant communities.

“That is downtown Los Angeles, where immigrants come to build a life. If that looks like the third world nightmare to some, it’s because they are blind to what they are seeing.” Couldn’t agree more with this look at DTLA and all the reasons we love our community and neighbors.

Oof. Requiring two or 2.25 parking spots is kinda unhinged y’all. Think about the ways cars have made LA expensive, ugly, and hard to navigate — and make it hard for people to raise a family here. We cause so much self-inflicted harm with policies like this.

As a resident where marines, national guard are being deployed, I want to emphasize how horrible it is to have your neighborhood militarized when it’s clear that it’s nowhere close to needed and is being used to foment chaos. We are less and free Downtown right now bc of this.
