It’s true that first home buyers need help with the deposit. It takes the bank of mum and dad. If labor can help with deposits for those whose parents can’t , that could be a good thing #insiders

Old guy in insiders hanging onto the myth that wfh is unproductive and people can’t be named if they are at home whenever they want. Need getting really worked up! #insiders

⚠️Protesters again halt logging in Tasmania's Central Highlands ⚠️This is the worst logging currently happening in Australia, with ancient forests needed by Swift Parrots, Masked Owls & Tasmanian Devils being clear-felled. #politas

One of my brothers is a farmer. His point is that farmers are way ahead of the rest of the nation in understanding that climate change is real.

weekends as an adult are neat because you can either do all your errands or you can do the things you enjoy but either way it’s the wrong choice

English is full of “lexical gaps,” words that are implied to exist but don’t, because we borrowed a bunch of words from Latin but not other, related words. Somebody made a chart to show it↓

Quick thread of lost and forgotten words that we need to bring back: “Overmorrow,” the day after tomorrow, and “yesterneve,” yesterday evening. “Nodcrafty”: to nod along sagely when someone is talking, despite not having a clue what they’re banging on about.

How in the ball-busting fuck do we live in a world where saying prayers and thanking god has been forced on virtually all of us virtually all the time ever since we were toddlers but making a Welcome to Country once every now and then is now a bridge too fucking far? #NewsCorpse

Ways of saying "your zipper is open" from five languages... 5. Your post office is open (Hindi) 4. The fairground is open (Danish) 3. The window to society is open (Japanese) 2. The Gate of Heavenly Peace is open (Chinese) 1. The pharmacy is open, and the doctor asleep (Spanish)

I really think people have underestimated how much the lessons of the pandemic are still fresh in people’s minds - when times are uncertain Australia wants a govt that will support public services #insiders #Election2025 #auspol

#Insiders Labor’s low key first term, lots of quiet achievements , nothing too drastic, left nothing for the LNP to attack in the election campaign. And attack is the only thing they know. It left them no where to go!

If a wind turbine fails and collapses, you clean up and rebuild. If a nuclear generation plant fails and collapses, you evacuate a 30Km radius, the entire wind path due to crop contamination and when safe you encase the whole plant in concrete and create exclusion zone of 10 Km.
