Using Hotwire makes much more sense (to me) than building pages on the client (like React does). Here's why: 1. There's less code to write (and read) 2. There's no duplication of business logic 3. No state management on the front-end 4. One person can do so much more

Shopify deleted 12,000 meetings this year. Today, they went a step further with a tool that shows the $$$ cost of holding meetings. I spoke to Kaz Nejatian (Shopify's COO) about meeting bloat and protecting craft time. Here are 6 spicy takes from our interview 👇

Pretend I’m an idiot. Why do most tech companies have camps? Product vs engineering and they go to war with each other; always. Even though the logical best outcome is they work in harmony together to produce superior results?

Software dev team question: Do people have any tricks to help others engage in pairing, mobbing, or more frequently collaborating? Some teams are split on preferences and I’d love to find a good middle ground for us.

I have some hard news. My whole team and I were laid off today. I’m looking for staff/lead Ruby on Rails work. Prefer remote with a Hotwire/turbo frontend :) My team is all mid to senior and would love a new opportunity as well. Reach out if you know of some great ones!!

Is it just me or has GitHub gotten slow since React started being used? I have a beefy iMac Pro and 100mb/s internet and there is noticeable lag in comments and code navigation. (All browser extensions are disabled and I’m using Brave)

Who needs a staff level rails developer for ongoing contract work? Looking for 10-20hrs a week (nights and weekends). Prefer Hotwire/fullstack projects that are long term whether it’s a brand new project or staff aug on existing. Expertise: fintech, security, hotwire, pairing.
