TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT! The Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will officially be inducted this evening! Join us for a ceremony at the Cascade Knights of Columbus Hall. Social hour begins at 6:00, with the ceremony at 7:00. Tickets will be available at the door.

This Day in Cougar Athletics History: October 10: 1980 (45 Years Ago) - 2023 inductee Russ Otting’s quarterback sneak touchdown in overtime gives the Cougars a 6-0 win over Western Dubuque, securing the school’s first winning season in just its third year of varsity football.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: October 26, 1990 (35 Years Ago) - The Cougar football team locks up an automatic bid to the Class 2A playoffs by closing the regular season with a 24-12 thumping of Monticello. It is the Cougars' third playoff appearance in program history.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: October 28, 1995 (30 Years Ago) - Jeff Decker (right) becomes the first Cougar boy in six years to earn a Top 20 finish at the State Cross Country meet, finishing 16th. Ryan Hughes also finishes in the Top 25 as the Cougars take 8th in the team race.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: October 31, 2015 (10 Years Ago) - Becca McDermott claims a runner-up finish to lead the Cougar girls to their first State Cross Country title since 1992. It's the 15th championship for Cougar coach Bob Davidshofer...50 years after his first crown.

With her 13th place finish today, Hallie becomes the 6th Cougar to earn Top 15 finishes at the State Meet in each of her four seasons in high school, joining Kerry Greenwood, Kim Gerken, Meg Wagner, Katerina Althoff, and Becca McDermott. Congratulations!

This Day in Cougar Athletics: November 2, 1985 (40 Years Ago) - The cross country teams sweep the team championships at the State cross country meet. Kerry Greenwood's individual title makes her the first Iowa girl to win three State crowns. Three others place in the Top Ten.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: November 3, 1990 (35 Years Ago) - The Cascade girls’ cross country team wins its third State Championship in four years. Freshman Meg Wagner leads the way with a runner-up finish, while Jenny Decker and Megan Althoff also place in the Top 20.

This Day in Cougar Athletics History: November 12, 2010 (15 Years Ago) - Cascade alum (and 2022 Hall of Fame inductee) Coach McDermott coaches his first game at Creighton Men’s Basketball, defeating Alabama State, 71-57. McDermott has led the Bluejays to 350 victories and ten NCAA Tournaments.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: Nov. 21, 1990 (35 Years Ago): For the first time in program history, two Cascade football players land first-team honors on the Class 2A All-State squads, as lineman John McDermott and defensive back Brian Federspiel are recognized by Des Moines Register.

This Day in Cougar Athletics: November 22, 1985 (40 Years Ago): After nearly a decade of 6-on-6 competition, the Cascade’s girls’ basketball team plays its first 5-on-5 game at the varsity level.
