…There are statements on all characters. You could ask them to respond individually in a chart to organise ideas. Or think pair share. Or, as I did, stick one under the visualiser and discuss. It generated loads of ideas. dropbox.com/s/g3l46k7h36e0…

🌟AIC revision🌟 This statement resource on the characters (link below) works really well for AIC because it generates discussion and writing opportunities, and because it helps students to have an opinion. This year I added in a vocab list to encourage greater use of key words

Trialing some new approaches with my wonderful Year 9 class who are writing persuasive speeches. I’ve introduced ‘Pit Stops’ as explicit pauses in the writing process for students to reflect on progress against the success criteria. I have loved it! ❤️✏️✨

We tell pupils to study, but have we actually taught them how to study?? Today I finished off my ‘How to study: a simple guide on how to study smarter not harder’ PowerPoint. Hopefully will help senior pupils learn how to study effectively ✨

30 lessons on Ishiguro's Klara and the Sun for Y9 - I cannot recommend teaching this novel highly enough. It has SO many facets - capitalism, family, what it means to be human etc etc, all written so accessibly. Lessons here if you're thinking about it drive.google.com/drive/folders/…

My visualiser is officially my best friend at the moment 🫶 This week I have been using it with Year 11 to introduce my approach to unseen poetry. By modelling my thought process and an ‘expert’ approach, students are able to understand exactly how to succeed in their exam✅

Is written feedback a waste of time? New study finds 1 in 5 students completely ignore feedback, while nearly half of those who did try to act on the feedback, don't improve at all. 🧵⬇️
