Government Affairs staffer in Sacramento. Pastimes involve reading bills, watching CalChannel (RIP), tracking regulations, playing D&D. The fun stuff.

If you want a case study in level of trust between the CA State Senate and Assembly right now, watch the slow roll of deciding fate of bills in both appropriations houses. Starts and stops of the hearings seem to hint at a strained who-does-what-and-what-do-we-do-back...

Youtube is letting blatant Russian bots instantly downvote every COVID video put out by reputable news media into oblivion, with comment sections filled with zero video accounts that are obvious bots and they won't do anything. Featuring definitely real accounts such as Hugh Man.

Sad news to report: Gary K. Hart, charter school architect and former California education secretary, dies at 78. (Gary was always gracious with his time over the years and a thoughtful interview subject.) latimes.com/california/sto…
